What is galleryjazz.com? Galleryjazz is Art, reloaded. It is the effortless expression of live music, photography, digital images and physical art exhibitions, all in the same place, at the same time. It is a shared dream that emerged when Mr Shah of www.cynergise.com met with Mr Taylor of www.jazzreloaded.com, and together they decided to go for a coffee . The coffee cost £3.87.
What is galleryjazz.com here to do ?
Galleryjazz.com is here to celebrate those stolen moments that make up jazz today – snapshots of musical and visual inspiration relating to the here and now! Galleryjazz celebrates jazz legends in our lifetime, and the visual artists that immortalise them. In this sense, galleryjazz.com is history in the making.
What is galleryjazz.com currently doing? Galleryjazz.com is creating an offline gallery of artwork and photographs relating to artists that have inspired or been inspired by the jazzreloaded project www.jazzreloaded.com . The aim is to produce a book, available for public purchase, containing jazz images, and interviews with the people who created them. This will also serve as a brochure for anyone who would like to purchase an image away from the physical exhibition.
What does galleryjazz.com want to do? Galleryjazz.com aims to change the way that we support and relate to the improvised arts, whilst creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere for people to meet, be inspired, talk, think, and change. We want to encourage visitors to the live exhibitions to meet up with each other and go for coffee, so that the world can enjoy more ideas like www.galleryjazz.com Galleryjazz also has the following specific aims for 2007: To raise £1500 for the charity Real Action http://www.realaction.org.uk/ for its 10th Anniversary celebration at the Cobden Club in May through the sale of artwork. To raise a subsequent £2621.44 for contribution to a pledge for Sol Shah’s One to Ten million project http://www.solshah.com/blog/1p-to-ten-million-pounds/ to raise £1500 for the charity www.corearts.co.uk
