Find the Rhythm! – the first ever dancers’ guide to feeling salsa music – is released at Latin Pulse, Floridita, 100 Wardour Street W1F OTN in the heart of London’s Soho on Thursday 8th April, 6.00pm til 3.00am.
Find the Rhythm! is a totally unique, comprehensive workbook on all things salsa aimed at dancers and, in fact, anyone interested in gaining a deeper insight into salsa music. Find the Rhythm!’s authors are the UK’s No1 salsa/latin jazz pianist and bandleader Alex Wilson and leading dance instructor and journalist Lee Knights.
The book launch is served up alongside a guarantuan Latin party as Cuba’s finest Son de Orientes unveil their new repertoire live alongside 2hrs of dance classes with triple World Salsa Champion Yanet Fuentes Torres.
Throughout the evening and dance classes, Son de Orientes perform Cuba’s timeless, traditional music Son, Cha Cha Cha and Danzón, served with a sharp, fresh twist of jazz grooves. Son de Orientes’ line-up includes one the tropical island’s most accomplished flautists and tres players.
Yanet Fuentes Torres delivers 2 hours of dance classes on authentic Cuban Son and Danzón – rarely publicly performed in the UK – from 7.00pm – 9.00pm. At 10.30pm, there is a world-class, exclusive showcase performance by the triple world salsa champion.
Dancing til 3.00am, with top DJs Alex and resident DJ Flecha on the decks.
